University
of Science &Technology of China
Institute of Polar Environment
The Institute of Polar
Environment, University of Science & Technology
of China
( IPE-USTC ), was constructed in June 1999 from several related groups. We have
sent successively nine researchers to join the 15th, 16th,
18th Chinese scientific expedition on Antarctica
and the second/ third Arctic expedition since 1998. These scientists or students are
professor Liguang Sun (15th
for Antarctica and Third Arctic), professor Zhouqing Xie (15th
for Antarctica and Second / Third Arctic), PHD students Xuebin Yin (16th),
Renbin Zhu (18th), Xiaodong Liu (18th), Jianjun Wang (18th)
respectively. We also performed the field investigation on Xisha Archipelago in South China Sea during March to April 2003.
